MANILA — Hundreds of beneficiaries from the Municipality of Santa Maria in Bulacan received financial assistance on Thursday as part of the government’s continuing support program for families facing economic hardships.

The aid distribution was carried out under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, which provides financial support to individuals and families experiencing emergencies or difficult circumstances.

According to program organizers, the initiative aims to help vulnerable households cope with the rising cost of living, particularly the steady increase in prices of basic commodities and petroleum products that continue to strain the daily expenses of many Filipino families.

Local beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting that the financial aid will help them meet immediate needs and ease some of the financial pressures brought about by the current economic situation.

The AICS program remains one of the government’s key social protection initiatives, providing immediate relief to Filipinos in need through financial, medical, and other forms of assistance.

Santa Maria is part of the 6th District of Bulacan, whose Representative is no other than the indefatigable Cong. Salvador “Ador” Pleyto.
