MALOLOS, Bulacan — A total of 1,408 members of transport groups in the province received rice subsidies from the Bulacan provincial government as part of its assistance program for drivers affected by rising fuel costs.
The distribution, led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Alex Castro, was carried out on April 24 in several areas, including Calumpit, Bulakan, and the City of Malolos.
At least 552 beneficiaries from the Meycauayan-Malolos-Calumpit Boundary Transport Cooperative received assistance during a distribution held at the Calumpit Sports Complex in Calumpit.

Meanwhile, 320 members of transport groups operating along the Hagonoy-Crossing Malolos route were given rice aid in Barangay Canalate, Malolos. Another 136 beneficiaries from Bulakan/Malolos MABJODA, along with 400 members of Karatig-Malolos MKTC, received assistance in Barangay Sto. Rosario, also in Malolos City.
The provincial government said the program aims to support drivers and transport workers who continue to operate despite the impact of high fuel prices on their daily income.
Officials added that the subsidy program will continue as long as global oil prices remain elevated.
