MANILA – University of Santo Tomas earned a place in the UAAP Season 88 women’s volleyball stepladder quarterfinals after defeating Far Eastern University in four sets at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Despite losing the first set, the Tigresses regained control and completed the comeback victory, 16-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16.

The win extended UST’s winning streak against FEU this season and secured its continued presence in the Final Four for the sixth straight year.

UST will next face Adamson University, with hopes of finally breaking through against the Lady Falcons this season.

The winner of their match will advance to take on National University, with a potential Finals matchup against De La Salle University awaiting.

Head coach Shaq Delos Santos praised his team’s grit and determination after the match.

Angeline Poyos led the offense with 26 points, while Jurado and Gula provided balanced contributions.

Pepito and Carballo anchored the team’s defense and playmaking.

FEU concluded its campaign in fifth place despite a solid showing from Gerzel Petallo and her teammates.
