MANILA — The Philippine weather system continues to be influenced by the easterlies, while Tropical Storm Hagupit remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
As of early morning, Hagupit was tracked 1,615 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao, packing 75 km/h sustained winds and gusts up to 90 km/h, moving steadily west-northwest at 20 km/h.
The easterlies are causing cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms over Mindanao regions, BARMM, Palawan, and nearby provinces, with a risk of flash floods and landslides due to intermittent heavy rainfall.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience intermittent rain showers and thunderstorms amid partly cloudy skies, especially during severe weather activity.
Wind flow across the archipelago remains light to moderate from east to northeast, with sea conditions staying slight to moderate at 0.6–1.8 meters.
Recent PAGASA data from Quezon City shows temperatures peaking at 35.8°C, dipping to 23.3°C, with humidity levels fluctuating between 42% and 80%.
