MANILA — Fair weather is expected to greet many parts of the Philippines Wednesday morning, but residents should still prepare for possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms as the southwest monsoon continues to affect the country.

According to PAGASA, Metro Manila and much of Luzon will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. Similar weather conditions are expected in most areas of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Weather experts warned that localized thunderstorms may produce brief periods of heavy rain, strong winds and lightning, which could result in flooding in flood-prone communities.

Metro Manila is forecast to record temperatures between 26°C and 33°C, while weather conditions may gradually become wetter later in the week as a possible low-pressure area east of Luzon enhances the southwest monsoon.

Residents are encouraged to carry umbrellas, avoid flooded areas, and stay updated on official PAGASA advisories throughout the day.
