MANILA – Fair weather will prevail over most of the Philippines on Monday as easterlies continue to affect the country, PAGASA reported.
However, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and Palawan. Moderate to heavy rains in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said isolated rains remain possible in other parts of the country, with the easterlies likely to persist over the next few days. No low-pressure area is currently being tracked.
In extreme Northern Luzon, winds will be moderate to strong, bringing moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate sea conditions.
Temperatures could hit 37°C in Tuguegarao and 35°C in Metro Manila.
The heat index may rise to dangerous levels, reaching 44°C in Dagupan City and 43°C in parts of Ilocos Region and La Union. In Metro Manila, it could range between 38°C and 49°C.
