A dramatic tropical storm with vivid lightning strikes over the ocean near a beach

MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday reported a low-pressure area (LPA) forming outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which could strengthen into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.
As of 2 a.m., the weather disturbance was located approximately 3,095 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao.
Despite this, the country is expected to continue experiencing generally warm and humid conditions, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said. Localized thunderstorms may still trigger isolated rain showers in some areas.
Forecasts show temperatures peaking at 36°C in Tuguegarao, while Metro Manila and Davao could reach up to 35°C. Meanwhile, the heat index may climb to 42°C in Cotabato City, Maguindanao, and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, with Metro Manila experiencing a heat index of up to 37°C.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected across the archipelago.
