MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to turn their faith into acts of compassion as the nation observes Easter Sunday.

Reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the close of Holy Week, Marcos said the holiday represents hope and the power of renewal.

“The empty tomb stands as a symbol that life prevails over death, and hope triumphs over despair,” he said.

He stressed that Easter is a call to action, urging citizens to demonstrate care and solidarity in their daily lives.

“Let us embody the light of Easter, not merely in words but through deeds that uplift others,” Marcos added.

The President also highlighted the need to “prioritize compassion over indifference” and “unity over division” to build a stronger nation.

“Every hand extended in help and every gesture of kindness contributes to the renewal of our society,” he said.

Marcos encouraged Filipinos to move forward with renewed hope, purpose, and responsibility toward their fellow citizens.

“Guided by faith and love for our country, there is no challenge we cannot overcome together,” he concluded.

Easter remains a cornerstone of Christian observance in the Philippines, where the majority of the population is Catholic.
