TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Five government hospitals in Bohol received a total of 12 mechanical ventilators from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Friday (March 20), expanding the province’s capacity to handle critical respiratory cases.
The ventilators were provided through PCSO’s Medical Equipment Donation Program (MEDP) and distributed to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon, Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna, Cong. Simeon G. Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, Catigbian District Hospital, and Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga.
Six units were allocated to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital, three units to Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital, and one unit each to the three remaining hospitals.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles said the initiative is part of the agency’s effort to make healthcare services more accessible to Filipinos, particularly those living in the provinces.
“Padala po ito ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” Robles said during the turnover ceremony. “Laging bilin niya sa amin that government should go to the people.”
He emphasized that healthcare assistance must reach communities without political bias.
“If the President says we have to love the Filipinos, we have to make sure na hindi mapupulitika ang healthcare,” Robles said.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado expressed gratitude for the equipment, noting that the ventilators will strengthen the capability of hospitals to respond to emergencies and future health crises.
He said the donation also reinforces the province’s healthcare preparedness and supports efforts to improve medical services across Bohol.
PCSO also handed over a check amounting to ₱277,940.92 representing the province’s share from lotto revenues for July to December 2025.
