MARILAO, Bulacan – The provincial government of Bulacan has officially launched the Pamilyang Bulakenyo Free Wi-Fi Internet program, an initiative led by Vice Governor Alex Castro aimed at providing free internet access to more residents, particularly students and professionals who cannot afford regular connectivity.

The project seeks to expand digital access across the province, recognizing the growing importance of the internet for education, work, and communication.

Castro said the program will be rolled out gradually throughout Bulacan with the assistance of telecommunications provider JuanLink. The initiative will start in selected areas before expanding to more communities in the coming months.

“We will go around the entire province—step by step but continuously,” Castro said. “No one will be left behind. As long as you are a Bulakenyo, you will stay connected.”

The vice governor emphasized that the program is designed to help residents who rely heavily on internet access but have limited financial resources.

Students are expected to benefit the most from the initiative, as many depend on internet connectivity for online research, assignments, and digital learning platforms. Reliable internet access has become increasingly essential in education, especially with schools integrating more technology-based learning tools.

Local officials said the free Wi-Fi project is part of broader efforts by the provincial government to improve digital infrastructure and promote inclusive access to technology.

Aside from supporting education, the program is also expected to help job seekers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses by allowing them to access online opportunities, government services, and digital markets.

The provincial government plans to expand coverage to more public spaces and communities as the program progresses.
