The Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Shri Harsh Kumar has praised Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando for the province’s advances in public health care, citing in particular the installation of the country’s first made-in-India open magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system at the Bulacan Medical Center.
In a statement, the envoy said the acquisition reflects Fernando’s “commendable vision” for improving access to modern medical services for Bulacan residents, noting that the provincial hospital is the first in the Philippines to adopt the innovative MRI technology.
“The installation of this high-tech MRI at Bulacan Medical Center reflects his strong commitment to strengthening health care for the people of the province,” the ambassador said.
He added that the open MRI system is a symbol of global collaboration, combining United States–based technology, international certifications, and Indian manufacturing expertise. The result, he said, is a technologically advanced, environmentally responsible, and globally competitive medical imaging product.
As the country’s first open MRI, the system is designed to enhance patient comfort, reduce operational complexity for medical staff, and support environmental sustainability, the envoy noted. He described the technology as an example of innovation guided by compassion—modern equipment that improves both patient experience and health care delivery.
The Bulacan Medical Center is expected to use the new MRI system to expand diagnostic services and improve the early detection and treatment of various medical conditions, benefiting thousands of patients in the province. /elamigo
