DAVAO — Julian Salamat, the gunman wanted for the killing of Bulacan police officer Staff Sgt. Renato Casauay Jr., voluntarily surrendered to authorities in the Davao Region on Wednesday, police reported.
According to the report, Salamat turned himself in to personnel of the Digos City Police Station after confessing to an accomplice, known by the alias “Jay,” about his involvement in Casauay’s death. The meeting was arranged at the Tagum City Bus Terminal.
Police continue to investigate the case and coordinate with authorities in Bulacan regarding the suspect’s transfer. /ia
